Edinburgh’s Hogmanay presents: Muckle Be The Light
MANSON, THE MAKAR & DREAMERS BEYOND!
Kick start the year with Garbage’s Shirley Manson (a true Scottish icon) and Edinburgh’s Makar/Poet Laureate Michael Pedersen at their cultural salon – where dreamers and light-seekers unite! Together they’ll quest into their cultural highlights of the last year, and look to the future, with guest stars galore. Of course, they’ll be talking about Garbage’s epic new album (Let All That We Imagine Be The Light) and Pedersen’s rave reviewed novel (Muckle Flugga).
They’ll be joined on their couch by, former First Minister and Sunday Times Bestselling author, Nicola Sturgeon. Plus song-writing legend Norman Blake – the Teenage Fanclub frontman conjuring a special performance just for the occasion. Expect blether, books & brawness; songs, readings & hope harvesting; aw that & muckle muchness beyond.
Featuring a pop-up bookshop from local heroes: The Portobello Bookshop.
